Murder
R –v- T [2009]
T was accused of murder following a robbery of the victim’s cannabis.
Two defendants were both charged with Murder. This took place in the Bath area, which has one of the lowest murder rates in the country and therefore received significant press coverage.
Following our analysis of the evidence, we advised the defendant that the best course of action for him would be to plead Guilty to the lesser offence of Manslaughter, which he did. This resulted in our client receiving a substantially reduced sentence of ten years imprisonment, in comparison to his co-defendant who received a life sentence with a minimum of twenty years to serve.
