Murder
R - Z Central Criminal Court [2009]
The defendant in this case was charged with Murder and Manslaughter. She was accused of fighting with a man who fell into the Regents Park Canal and drowned. Following a defence application at half time, the Judge withdrew the Murder count, whilst the defendant was subsequently acquitted by the jury of Manslaughter. This was a case involving an extradition to this country of a Polish national who had been wanted here for sometime. The case involved complex and competing scientific evidence and attracted much media attention.
